| Thursday night after work we rode up to Lone
Pine and settled in for the night at 1am (~350
miles)......
Friday morning we headed off at 6:30am up 395....Tioga
pass was closed so we did some of Bluesapalooza loop in reverse (108/CottonWood/Cherry
Lake/120).....MUCH more snow on 108 and water in Yosemite
(the falls and the river) than I'm used to seeing since we usually ride
the loop in August not May.......then we punched out of Yosemite Valley
on 41 and stayed in Oakhurst Friday evening (~400 miles).
Sat we had breakfast by the motel
and then headed down to Fresno on the 41 and up into Kings
Canyon on 180.....smokin'......did the big tree thing and then headed back
out of Sequoia down through the tight twisties on 198....lunched at a nice
restuarant along the river and then proceeded on to Porterville and the
mighty 190....no pictures on 190....too busy turning the handlebars and
banging the feet on the ground....what a road......dropped down from 190
and followed the Kern river into Kernville for some R&R and ice
cream/shade under the trees in the park......laid down for a bit on the
grass and soaked it all in.....great roads.....then went across 178 over
to 14 and fought the wind into Mojave where we stayed last night (~400
miles).....
Got up bright and early this morning and headed back up
into the mountains.....had breakfast in Wrightwood and then droned down
the 15 to the homestead....bike was parked and in the garage at 11:30am
(~250 miles)....nice loop. |
